· AccessScience is
the online McGraw-Hill Encyclopedia of Science &
Technology. Don't overlook this excellent resource for
articles, images, biographies, and study guides across the
sciences.
· ACS American
Chemical Society journals in chemistry.
· Agricola is a
bibliographic database of citations to the agricultural literature
created by the National Agricultural Library (NAL) and its
cooperators. Covers all aspects of agriculture and allied
disciplines, including animal and veterinary sciences, entomology,
plant sciences, forestry, aquaculture and fisheries, farming and
farming systems, agricultural economics, extension and education,
food and human nutrition, and earth and environmental
sciences. Use Interlibrary loan to request publications and
articles. USDA employees have desktop access to full-text journal
database.
· BIOSIS is the
world's largest index of citations and abstracts to literature in
the biological sciences. Use Article Linker to search for
cited journals in other library databases. Use Interlibrary
Loan to receive articles cited in BIOSIS that are not available
full-text in any other library database.
· GeoRef is the world's
largest index of citations and abstracts to literature in the
geological sciences. Use Article Linker to search for cited
journals in other library databases. Use Interlibrary Loan to
receive articles cited in GeoRef that are not available full-text in
any other library database.
· JSTOR provides
historical information from older journals on biology, ecology, and
related topics.
· MEDLINE is the
NLM's premier bibliographic database covering the fields of
medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, the health care
system, and the preclinical sciences. Although this is a citation database,
watch for links to full-text. MEDLINE is searchable via the PubMed
web site, or via the library database list.
· Nature Online is
the full-text access to Nature magazine from 1997-present.
· Science Online is
the full-text access to Science magazine from 1995-present.
· ScienceDirect provides
full-text access to over 1,800 science journals from Elsevier
Publishing.
· Wilson Web provides
full-text access to journals in the sciences. For Subject
Area, select "Applied Science & Technology,"
"Biological & Agricultural," or "General
Science."
· PubMed Central is
the U.S. National Library of Medicine's digital archive of
full-text life sciences journal literature. Access via the PubMed
Central web site and use Interlibrary loan to receive articles that
are not available full-text.
· Wiley InterScience
provides full-text access to over 300 journals in the sciences from
Wiley InterScience Publishing.
Two full-text periodical databases that include
college-level journals in the sciences are:
· EBSCO Academic Premier
· Expanded Academic ASAP.
After entering the database, select
Expanded Academic ASAP from the Gale Group database menu.
On the menu see also other Gale Group
databases for K-12 education, including the Infotrac Kids, Junior,
and Student editions.
