This site bills itself as, “the single best source for facts.” Refdesk links to an extensive list of reference resources including encyclopedias, dictionaries, almanacs, citation guides, quotation finders, and census information. Click on a general subject category to find reference resources specific to a subject, such as education, business, or science. Among the many other links featured on Refdesk are links to a wide variety of newspapers, links to network news reports, and links to breaking news articles published by the Associated Press.
 
Go to Reference.com to conduct simple searches of dictionaries, thesauri, and encyclopedias. Reference.com also contains links to medical, legal, and literary resources.
 
A product of the University of Michigan School of Information, the mission of the Internet Public Library is, “to provide library services to Internet users.” The Internet Public library provides the usual reference tools found in libraries, such as dictionaries, encyclopedias, almanacs, etc. In addition, it includes an advanced search feature, an option to email a question directly to a librarian, and research guides for specific subjects.
