Athletics are an integrated part of campus life at Montana Western. Over 30 percent of our student body are involved in Bulldog athletics either as athletes, student coaches, or managers.

Montana Western is a charter member of the Frontier Conference which includes:  Carroll College, Dickinson State, Lewis-Clark State, Montana Tech, MSU-Northern, Rocky Mountain College, Westminster College, and the University of Great Falls.  Eastern Oregon and Southern Oregon are also in as a football only members. 

Montana Western is also affiliated with the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) and the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA).

Montana Western offers varsity and JV sports for both men and women. The Lady Bulldogs compete in basketball (varsity and JV), volleyball, equestrian and rodeo. The Bulldogs field squads in football, basketball (varsity and JV) and rodeo.
